Lisa,

Assuming a HCF modem and does not work on all HCF modems, here is the format of the AT+ms string:

I would like to force a specific protocol and/or connection speed range for my
SupraMAX modem.

Syntax: AT+MS=<modulation>,<automode>,<minimum tx>,<maximum
tx>,<minimum rx>,<maximum rx>

You'll notice the receive speed follows the transmit speed with this command set.

The defaults for the settings are: +MS: K56,1,75,33600,75,56000

Modulation options: B103, B212, V21, V22, V22B, V23C, V32, V32B, V34, K56, V90

Automode options remain: 0, and 1

Available speeds: 75, 300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 7200, 9600, 12000, 14400, 16800,
19200, 24000, 26400, 28800, 31200, 33600, 34000, 36000, 38000, 40000, 42000,
44000, 46000, 48000, 50000, 52000, 54000, 56000

I am not able to get the SupraMax PCI card to work properly with system
under Windows 98. My motherboard contains the VIA chipset.

Look at the following web site:

http://www.via.com.tw/support/faq.htm

Try low and increment to higher speeds.

Good Luck,

Frank
