Both modems initiated retrains before hardly any data passed either
way. You might reduce the chance of the PM3 retraining by limiting the
upstream V.34 rate. Instead of the 31.2 kbit/s autorate, try limiting
to 28.8 kbit/s using S37=17.
Although we only recommend it for test and debugging, you can try a
similar approach for the downstream direction. -v90=11 will force a
connection at 40.0 kbit/s instead of the 42666 autorate. See also
