Yup! We have a local computer dealer who initially started putting
these modems in their machines because they connected so well with us.
That was back when we were running ComOS 3.8. Then suddenly, when 3.8.2
came out, it broke the CL modems. 3.8.2c2, however, fixed most of our
CL modem problems. Be aware that all of the CL modems that I've seen
that work well are running 6.04 firmware. Recently, various people have
mailed the list saying that they're having trouble with 6.00 and 6.02
firmware. You may want to check the firmware and see if it's running
6.04 by doing an ATI1. You'll get something like this:

CD04.08 - 604 PARALLEL (V.90-ONLY) SPEAKERPHONE 04 - DSP PATCH: 103.00

Note that the 4.08 is not the firmware number, although it looks like
it. The 604 is actually the number you should look at--that's 6.04.

If worse comes to worse, and you can't find updated firmware for this
beast, you can make it connect by forcing V.34 with the following init
string:

+MS=V34B,1,0,33600
