This worked great with our USR and we are running 3.8.2

Thanks Jamin!!!

string?

USR 56K modems tend to work well with our system *except* for the
Winmodems. Even so, we often have to put in an init string on all of them
to get them to connect more reliably.

S32=34 Disables X2 (Which helps for some reason)
S32=66 Disables v.90
S32=98 Disables Both X2 and v.90
S13=64 Disables Fast Retrain (helps prevent disconnections)
&N## Sets a maximum speed, replace ## with 30 for 45333, 29 for
44000... etc.

These are what we typically use with our customers:

USR 56K Modems (the non-Win variety)
S32=34S13=64 we rarely have to use the &N## here, but sometimes do.

USR Winmodems
S32=98, or sometimes S32=34S13=64&N## setting the modem a good 3-5 speed
levels below its old maximum connection speed..

We did have some problems with the 3.8.2c upgrade which is why we
downgraded, but I think alot of it deals more with telco equipment
settings depending on your area.
