If you're looking for a "budget" modem, I have no idea. However, if you
are serious about maintaining a good connection over a bad line, you
should invest in a high quality modem such as a USR Courier. We had
excellent results with them on all kinds of lines to almost any kind of
modem on the other end. (Ohhhh for the days of yore with PM2's and
Couriers and ZERO modem connection problem calls - that's certainly not the
case these days :( ). You *DO* get what you pay for with some things.

Motorola and others once made high end modem products also, but I've not
heard much from anyone lately (haven't looked either, tho').

Later.
