True story. A local computer dealer in town that we work with quite a
bit is now selling these integrated systems with PCTel modems built in.
When I tried to talk the owner out of using this garbage, he said that
it's the only way he can cut his costs enough to be able to compete with
the Emachines, Compaqs, etc., and still make a profit. Interestingly
(fortunately), we haven't had any problems recently with the PCTel
modems connecting to us (ComOS 3.8.2c2).
