This modem gave us some problems. The user that had it was
connecting VERY well (52k or so) when we were using ComOS 4.0.3
(NOT c2 - modem code here similar to 3.8.2). Upon upgrading to
4.1 Release (same modem code as 3.9 (?)), the customers
connection went down to about 28.8. This is with the latest=20
drivers, and firmware. Same modem, same line, same PC.

We promptly opened a ticket with support, but never heard
anything from them.=20

After doing some searching, the trick actually ended up to be the
comma trick. Putting between 1 and 3 commas at the end of the
phone number boosted this customers connection back up to the 50k
range - solid. We didn't try this at first - usually this is the
trick to forget about v.90 and connect at low speeds. Just so
happens it helps this modem to negotiate v.90 it seems. *shrug*

Try that, hopefully it'll solve your customer's problem.
