IMO you are wrong when you assert the ascend boxes have better modem code,
we recently assumed admin of an ISP running 4048's and some 4004's and based
upon what we've seen the ascend's have at most an equally bad record at
dealing with some modems. In fact we're wondering why they haven't quit in
droves. Don't always assume the grass is greener.

Hi,
When will we finally see modem code that works.
In the beginning the 56k were on the market
we were told every NAS has modem problems.
This was true but 3com, Ascend and cisco solved
their modem problems but here at Lucent there is
still no good modem code released.
Perhaps Lucent only bought Livingston to learn how
to develop modem code that can than be used
with the ascends later.
