We understand Rockwell have released V36 of the pump
code but has usual it takes ages (never for some) to release
it for OEM modems by the OEM.
Has anyone else had any problems with modems on this chipset ?
Its the No 1 chipset used for generic externals in Australia
and the current version shipped in most. Without confidence in
it we have NO cheaper externals that we feel comfortable with
now. Only USR/3Com give me confidence form the current crop
of shipping external modems.
I swear I will organise a boycott of Rockwell/Connexant
modems if this debacle continues. I HATE with PASSION the
way they force upgrades to be sourced form the OEM, usually
some tinpot under resourced corner shop/importer of Taiwan
modems from companies who's web site is lucky to be up,
slow as a dog, and mostly un-navigable and with little or
no contact info/response if you try.
May Lucent rule the world with LT WinModems and variants
that can get univeral Firmware for ANY OEM's version from
their site (or 808HI.COM .. the worlds best Modem resouce site..)
Now only if they had external versions around ? I hear
some were coming ?
