(PMOD) Lucent Modem and PM3

I have a customer that is having major difficulties getting decent =
connect speeds, (over 28.8) with this modem Lucent, model number =
MDP7800-U. Can any of you think of some AT commands that might help him =
out? His phone lines are good enough to support a better speed than =
this, so it almost certainly has to be in his AT command set. Any help =
at all would be appreciated.
