An expensive cassette recorder. I remember paying close to $450 for mine. I
had one of the first ones. I think that I can port RADIUS and I'm going to
tackle the project. I will be using a C64 to begin with. The joystick ports
are serial, I believe. The Vic 20 version should be out shortly after I
complete this one. One port on the Portmaster must be dedicated to RADIUS
and have a fixed ip address. The serial port on the PortMaster will be
connected to my joystick port. I will write the program in MS-BASIC so that
it is portable between platforms. The text file with all of the passwords in
it can be saved on a SSSD 5.25" floppy connected to the C64. I will use read
the file into RAM to reduce the latency of a disk seek... in the future I
may add the capability to have a bigger file than ~35k. In the time being,
use a C128 if you need more users. If someone can please point me in the
right direction with the RFCs covering TCP/IP and PPP... I'll begin
immediately. Oh, one other thing... C64's are getting harder to find as a
complete system, so I may decide to offer this as an all inclusive
commercial package at some point in the future. Please send the URLs for
those RFCs:
