Thanks! The Merit users file _is_ the Livingston users file, although
we don't use it to store real users in it, just four or so "canonical"
users to finesse the PortMaster protocol hints. I have made the Merit
version as close to compatible with the RADIUS DRAFT RFC as I could. This
includes the attribute names which are most visible in the users file and
the dictionary. I know of no such utilities. The authfile is easy,
however. If you use "realms" as we define them, then comment out all the
entries in the Merit distribution authfile. Replace the "your.realm" line
with a suitable entry for your situation. That's it. The server goes
first to the users file, and if the entry found to match there (including
the DEFAULT entry) has the Authentication-Type = Realm attribute as a
check item, then the server goes next to the authfile. There it attempts
to match whatever follows the "@" in the user name from the PortMaster, as
in user@realm. Then it authenticates the user using that method...

Regards,

web...
