Hello,

This is a call to our user community.

We are completing development on on next major revision of RADIUS and we
have implimented many of the features you have been requesting. However,
what we would like is to hear from you the features that you want. If
you have requests we have not implimented we may be able to do them in
this release, if not then we will consider them for the next release which
we are already planning for. For example, in this release the ability
to use prefix notation (Puser) or suffix notation (user.ppp) are built in.
So if you are running a patched RADIUS now, you should be able to move to
this one without losing that ability. I mention it because this is one
thing we would like tested in the real world and I figure those with the
patches wouldn't normally volunteer because they would expect to lose
that ability with the beta. This is certainly not the only new feature,
but you only get to hear the rest once you sign the beta agreement. :-)

Please email these requests to megazone@livingston.com with 'RADIUS WISH LIST'
in the subject. DO NOT FILL THE MAILING LISTS UP WITH THESE.

Also, while we're doing that, if you are willing to be a beta site for
this new RADIUS we would like to know. We are looing for *serious* beta
testers only - if you take on the task we expect that it will be used and
we wil receive feedback. Betas are no good if we don't hear back from you.
This is *beta* code, keep that in mind, don't expect to put in on your
production network and start using it with no problems at all. We have
the code tested internally, but the idea of an external beta is to shake
it down in different environments.

If you would like to volunteer for the beta (and understand not all
volunteers will get it, we need a good sampling of environments not all
sun, etc) please email to kfoster@livingston.com with 'RADIUS BETA' in
the subject, and include the following:

Name
Email address
Mailing Address
Phone number
FAX number
Host platform and version (just send 'uname -a')
Type of environment (ISP, corp network, your basement play room...)

DO NOT FILL THE MAILING LISTS UP WITH THESE EITHER.

This is a test - if you can't email the right person, no beta. Anyone
who sends the beta request to the mailing list isn't going to be in
the beta.

Wish lists go to megazone@livingston.com
Beta requests go to kfoster@livingston.com

Get these in by *TUESDAY* - the beta positions should be full by then,
and I will be out of the office starting Thursday and I'd like Wednesday
to finish sorting the wish lists to give to engineering. (I'll be back
on the 10th - yes, an actual, for real vacation.)

-MZ
