Why? You've even quoted my text where I already said it won't work for
dialin or dialout use...
>Command>set s9 address dialup-10.infinet.net.au
>[after that I got the following message]
>Port S9 local address changed from 0.0.0.0 to 0.0.0.13
>Is this correct?
Not at all. If dialup-10.infinet.net.au resolves to 0.0.0.13 - you have
a DNS config error. 0.0.0.13 is a bogus address.
>Do I have still have to add the above entry into the DNS/ zone files?
The entire point is moot:
*You cannot assign a fixed name/IP to a port for dialin or dialout!*
The only way to do this is to simulate it with a hack to RADIUS to do
pseudo-fixed IPs.
My original text you quoted:
>> That has no effect on dialin or dialout, the port settings only effect
>> Network (Hardwired) links.
