RADIUS menu's

Hi,
We have the loan of a Livingston Portmaster 2E and are looking at
using the device as a drop-in replacement for our dial-in services. Due to
the number of clients we have, it is not very feasible to ask all of them
to change their login procedure.
I have been going over the RADIUS code (Livingstons and Merits) and
can see that it is very possible to modify this code to allow for a menu
system to be integrated, probably using send_challenge() - however, we do not
have time (before returning the unit) to start modifying the code to do this.
What we need is that the user is authenticated (username and password)
then the challenge is issued asking for the selection by the user of shell,
slip or ppp for their connection.
The present detection method is this:

detect login:
send <username>
detect password:
send <password>
detect "Enter >" or just ">"

The first two detects are taken care of by the portmaster and passed
along accordingly. The last one is the 'problem'
Has anyone come across (or written) any code that will allow fully
configurable menu's or something similar that will allow what we need to do?
I hope so :)
Please respond directly via email as I am not on the mailing list.
