I have seen both out-of-order and completely missing Stop records. I
haven't had time to really look into it, but I have written a quick script
to examine detail files for problems. It is called "Verify-Detail-Log"
and is available at http://www.n2h2.com/useful_scripts/. It might be a
good starting point for someone to use to research this problem in more
depth.
