I don't know of anyone out there that has NOT
had some sort of modem/line/phone co. problems. If you have not
had these problems I'd bet we'd all like to know. One good way
around this might be UCD (Universal Call Distribution)
It will only hit the bad modem once - in a cycle. So
if user X dials, gets the bad modem, it won't be
hit until the UCD group comes around again. And if
you can find this modem, you can take it out of the
hunt group yourself.
This also distributes the load over your modems more evenly
than the regular hunt group does.
I also remember people mentioning that if a modem keeps
ringing, they have an "extra pool" that the call get's
forwarded to. There are usually about 2-6 modems in the "extra pool".
I've had no experience with the pure digital boxes that handle both
digital and analog. If these work better than pure analog?
We have problems with people getting a drop carrier in the middle of
sessions on our analog lines.
