Relative indeed. 1.2.13 is not...especially when you try using it as a
terminal server. Stock 1.2.13 with pppd 2.1.2 is incredibly buggy and
unstable. So much so, that a group started up with the goal of making a
stable 1.2.x kernel...and I eventually went to 1.3.7x and finally 2.0.x to
get stability.

I finally just had my first crash on a 2.0.x terminal server...2.0.10
after 90 days...and I'm fairly sure it was someone exploiting the recently
announced icmp bugs. It was already set to upgrade to 2.0.23 (+patches)
at next boot...so that won't likely happen again.

I understand ELF is the best thing since sliced bread for developers, but
for the end user, there's little benefit other than currency...and the
upgrade isn't exactly trivial. In addition, there seem to be some 2.0.x
bugs related to libc and gcc versions...and the ancient ones I use seem
stable...so why fix what works?
