'total.time' with one line per user like. at end of month file is renamed
time.last.

all the above is done by cron....
i click on the check timetodate [or time last month] runs a cgi with:
grep $username total.time |mail $username or cgi
grep $username time.last |mail $username
we also do reports: on port activity by port to find bad ports, port load
ver time, user time avg. and port usage reports etc etc... which are
useful for planning the future or maintaining present service.
