Peter - The problem you have may be due to the fact
that some Ascend attribute parameter values overlap
standard RADIUS attributes. One way to solve this
is for the RADIUS implementation to support multiple
dictionaries, and then based on the incoming NAS value
use the correct dictionary and do a look-up on the
Attribute's ASCII Name for its matching value.

If your RADIUS server implementation doesn't support
this ability, then overlapping and/or ambiguous
attributes won't be handled properly.

If you can run on an NT platform, you can try
the Funk Software Steel-Belted Radius for Windows NT
product. It is fully compatible with Livingston, Ascend,
and Shiva, and provides the aforementioned capability.
