I was curious if anyone could give me some helpful information
concerning the PortMaster 3. Here is our situation/configuration:
1 PM 3 with 2 T1 interfaces with 1 digital modem card for 8 modems to
start. I do realize that the T1 Channelized software is ending its beta
testing.
One connection would be framerelay connection the other would be T1
channelized for 24 incoming analog modem lines. This box would also act
as a gateway for a LAN.
Has anyone had success or problems with the PM3? I recently heard that
there have been problems with 14.4 or lower modems connecting to a PM3.
Is there a fix coming out for this soon?
How is the 56k technology shaping up? Livingston recently released
they would support the Lucent and Rockwell technologies. Once all the
bugs are worked out and they make an agreement with the FCC, will
Livingston also support the Rockwell/Lucent protocol or both the
Rockwell/Lucent and the USR x2?
