They are called Channel Banks. It breaks out each channel to a POTs
line, doing the D->A.

Our US Wosrt prices are around th $1000 price tag. PRI is worse.
We even get them doing stupid things like overloading a backhauled
switch to prevent new service (talking about Engineering challenged!)
and then putting a new CO switch in to alleviate the problem, and
screwing the situation up so bad with the new switch that its
pretty pointless right now to try and get anything accomplished.
