X2 - Courier Imodem -> PM2E

I realize that I may be dragging up an old ghost here, but the mailing
list archives didn't quite answer all my questions.

Does anyone know if it is possible to serve as an X2 host by connecting a
BRI line to a Courier I-modem, which is in turn connected to a PM2E? Are
there any digital-analog conversions which would disable the X2? To tell
the truth, we would rather just offer K56Plus with the PM3, however there
being a large number of users who want the X2 protocol, there doesn't seem
to be any option but to do both. I am also wondering, would the Courier
I-modem be able to host two concurrent X2 sessions (one on each B-channel
of the BRI line)?
