The problem is that you must terminate the connection from within the =
livingston. Otherwise, the telnet session stays active and uses one of =
your telnet connections. When you fail to exit out of the livingston, =
multiple times, all of your connections are used up and you are unable =
to connect.=20
So, the solution to your problem is to type <exit> to close your =
connection. This will stop the connections from staying open and allow =
you to log in and out of it, day and night, for more than three days. =
Also, in case you manage to fill all available connections, you can =
still login from any of the serial ports and reset the network =
connections. (command is something like; <reset netc>)
I believe there is also a way to increase the amount of telnet =
connections you can have open con-currently, but I'm unsure as to the =
command. (its in the book.)
I hope this helps out, I had the same problem a few months back. (it's =
so easy to just close the application when your done!)=20

Subject: telnet shut downs
We have a PM2e 20 and about every third day or so we loose the
capability to telnet into the portmaster.
Could someone give m,e some suggestions why this would happen?
