I'm starting off a project to write a new RADIUS server from scratch.
Some goals are:
- to make it free of Livingston code and avoid other copyright
problems. (no offense against Livingston, I use their products. :))
this will be freely redistributable.
- modularity, no need to hack stuff in, because there will be a
framework or API for plugging in your own custom code, or calling
external programs.
- security: avoiding buffer overruns, denial of service by flooding
the RADIUS server, etc.
- performance: I'm thinking of compiling in the dictionary, among
other things.
This is for Unix platforms - I'm using Linux at the moment.
