Radius 1.16 Crashing

We are still running Radius 1.16 and Radius seems to want to crash every
now and then. I would like to know if someone has a cron script that can
check for Radius to see if it is running and if not to restart it. The
secondary server is running 2.0 radius and is having this error msg in
it's logs when it is queried
Apr 10 07:18:01 sookie radius[17802]: dropping duplicate request for id 12
from portmaster2
It doesn't matter what portmaster it is. Can someone please help me.
