authenticating long passwords

I'm having problems authenticating users with passwords more than
16 characters long. According to the specs it should handle passwords
up to 128 characters. Anyways, it's a client I've written and I'm
just wondering whether I'm doing something wrong generating the
encrypted password properly, or whether it's a Radius bug.

BTW, I'm using Radius 2.0.
