Re: Radius 2.0 and Linux 2.0.30

I'm not running buiddbm or using shadow passwords. Authentication failures
(as far as I know) did not happen with Radius 1.16. You can get the source
from the Livingston site, just make sure you have a serial number from a
Livingston product handy. Here's an excerpt from my dealings with
Livingston support:

OK. I got a brand new tar of the Radius source. I untarred it ( the source
I was using before was messed up) and went to the Linux directory. Looking
at the makefile I'm not sure why you told me to make from
/usr/local/linux. It seems to be OK anywhere as long as you keep the
directory structure from the tar file intact. Anyway I went to the Linux
directory and typed "make". This is what I got:

make: *** No rule to make target `../radius/src/sdacmvls.h', needed by
`radiusd'. Stop.

This makes sense really because although there is a ../radius/src
directory, there is no file called sdacmvls.h.

I'm still not sure if I have to re-compile my radiusd in the first place.
We had another authentication failure last night, again with no funny
messages in /var/log/syslog, /var/log/messages, or anywhere in /etc/raddb.
I'm going to run radiusd -x tonight, hopefully (ha ha) we will have
another failure. I'm not quite sure what's the proper way to redirect
radiusd -x's output to a file. You might want to mention that in the next
Radius Administrator's manual. To answer your earlier questions, yes I did
the Troubleshooting in Appendix A. Oh yeah, thanks for the help so far!

------- End of Excerpt -------------------------------------------

This Radius problem is EXTREMELY frustrating, because it's been so rock
solid before. Also I've compiled tons of code before, but I don't know why
I can't compile this little Radius program!
