I just subscribed to this list and did not find any archived
messages about this yet, so please forgive me if this issue has
been discussed yet:
I just finished installing NT 4.0 SP3 and the freshly released
"Steelhead" software. Clients can connect, but when the NT server
invokes the RADIUS client to authenticate the user on the
RADIUS 1.16 server, I always get a "password check"
error. The RADIUS server first complains about an unknown
attribute 60 (the CHAP-Challenge, per RFC) and then says
the password is incorrect. Just adding "CHAP-Challenge" to
the dictionary gets rid of the error message, but does not
solve the problem. In the MS help, I read something
about NT using DES to encrypt the password, wheras RADIUS
expects it to be encrypted with MD5.
Has anybody found a solution to this problem yet?
