I apologize for cross posting this message to both forums.

I recently added a simple filter to my portmaster. It denied
access to a single fully significant (32bit) internet address to
our SMTP server. (They were spamming the server).

However, something has gone horribly wrong.

All port 25 traffic from outside the portmaster is being blocked.
My LAN is receiving no mail. My customers are receiving no mail.

Only port 25 is being blocked. This was my filter (applied to the
incoming filter on the W1 port on my Portmaster-2er)

1 deny <spammers ip>/32 <my subnet>/24 tcp dst eq 25
2 permit 0.0.0.0/0 0.0.0.0/0 ip

This should have denied access to that single IP address, but
allowed it for all other protocols.

I have restored the portmaster from a backup. I have deleted all
filters. Yet port 25 is still being blocked to ALL internet
addresses. I am getting frantic. *How* could this be happening!?
My portmaster has not a single filter listed. It has been
restored from a 2 week old backup, before I ever even considered
filters.

I need help, and badly. :( Livingston is closed, and I can't get
e-mail. I have searched fro 2 hours through their online archives
fruitlessly. If anyone can offer a suggestion, could you please
