A Good Way To Handle Things Using DEFAULT

Folks,

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if something like this would work:

DEFAULT1 Auth-Type = system, Group = "isdn"
.....

DEFAULT2 Auth-Type = system, Group = "fiftysixk"
...

DEFAULT3 Auth-Type = system, Group = "ppp"
....

It seems that this would get around people having to put a prefix/suffix
in their user ID when they log in. (Having several thousand users
reconfigure their dialup connection is not a pretty thing.) Would that
get around the prefix/suffix requirement?

Thanks,
Michael Lucas

If you recall, I asked last week about a better way of setting up my
users file to take advantage of DEFAULT. Well, I didn't get any
responses, so I decided to go hack the radiusd source to be able to
filter users based on the group they're a member of. I popped open the
source, and low and behold the feature already exists :-)

DEFAULT Auth-Type = System, Group = "ppp"
Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-IP-Address = 255.255.255.254,
Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.255,
Framed-Compression = Van-Jacobson-TCP-IP,
Framed-Routing = None,
Framed-MTU = 1500,
Idle-Timeout = 2700,
Session-Timeout = 28800

This will allow anyone in who passes the auth check and is a member of
group "ppp".

Livingston, you're amazing :-)

Evan
