Another thing to be on the lookout for is if you are using an interface
that is not the Internal Apple Built-in Ethernet, you may find your
interface forgetting who it is and not replying to arp-request.
The bottem line is, make sure that you always have the right ethernet
driver installed. I spent a week trying to figure out why my Dayna
(which is 100% apple driver compliant) would disappear. After installing
the Dayna drivers then the lastest Apple stuff over it, all is well and
now when anything arps for it on the net, it will arp-reply like a big dog.
