Username via Telnet?

I want to set up my new Portmaster (a quite impressive device, by the way)
to locally prompt for a user name. If the user is known in the local Users
Table, it will start up PPP or whatever. If the user is not known, it should
connect to my host for login.

The command SET SECURITY OFF does almost exactly what I want. The problem
is, that the user name is only passed to the host if I use SET SERVICE_LOGIN
RLOGIN. My host only understands Telnet. Is there any way I can get the
Portmaster to forward the name the user had entered to the host even with
SET SERVICE_LOGIN TELNET? It looks rather silly to re-prompt for the
username on the host.
