In general terms, for any equipment, there is one book that is a *must*
for those with security concerns -

"Firewalls and Internet Security: Repelling the Wily Hacker" bu Willian R.
Cheswick and Steven M. Bellovin. ISBN 0-201-63357-4 from Addison Wesley

They put it in plain English (well, Technical English ;-) ) and it is easy
to translate to particular formats.
