Problem with rlogins

Hello,

We've been running a new 30 port box for a little over 2 weeks now. We've
patched RADIUS to support the <userid>.ppp, <userid>.slip, and <userid>
login types. If the customer simply enters <userid>, we rlogin them to one
of our Linux machines.

Everything works great, except for one thing. The in.rlogind and csh
processes don't die on the Linux box after the customer hangs up. I do a
mass kill of these sessions a couple times a day for people who are no
longer logged in. This is getting a tad tiring.

I realize that this may be a Linux problem, but it only seems to happen with
rlogins from the portmaster. We're running Linux 1.2.3. I realize that
there are patches to move Linux up to 1.2.13, but I'm wondering if anyone
else has seen this problem and if there may be a simpler fix than patching
our Linux kernel source.

Thanks!
