I'll paste in the instructions I put together for our Win95 SLIP users for
changing the MTU:
Step 7: Set the MTU size
>From the Start button, choose 'Run'. Enter c:\windows\regedit.exe in
the box.
In the Registry Editor, descend through the following tree structure:
Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\netTrans\0000
The 0000 may be different on your machine if you have other network
support installed.
>From the "Edit" menu, choose "new" and "string value". A new value will
be created and should be highlighted so you can rename it. Type
"MaxMTU" into this box and press Enter. Now double-click on the
entry you just created. It should bring up a dialog box and ask for a
value for MaxMTU. Enter 296.
Exit the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
Hope that helps..
