Ha. HA! Try telling that to our customers, who all think that V.FC is
the greatest thing in the world. "What do you mean V.fast isn't a real
protocol? AOL supports it!"

We are also using MultiTech managed racks. Currently we have a mixture
of MT1432 and MT2832 modems. From a manager standpoint, I love them.

Users with cheap modems tend to experience a lot of problems with dropped
connections, though they seem to be in the minority.

The one gripe I have with the manager software is that to use the SNMP
features it requires that you be running Newt from Netmanage (or so
we've been told.) I'm running Win95 on my desktop and would love to
work on the modem racks from there, but it won't run with the Microsoft
TCP/IP stack. MultiTech tells us that is being worked on, though.
