It sounds to me like you are reading the manual for an IRX114, NOT a PM2eR.
The PM2eR ports are all rated at an async 115,200. The IRX114 has sync ports
rated at 2048k (E1) (S1+S3) and 128k (S2+S4) speeds dependent on the port
number. Also the S0 port on the IRX111-114 is an async port for diagnostics
that is rated at a maximum of 115,200.
