I don't think that is called for.
BSD/OS *is* quite a real OS, very real, and very damn good. And a high
end PC with BSD/OS can outperform a low end Sun and cost a ridiculous
amount less. So it is a very reasonable choice. Linux is also a real OS,
and a good OS, my personal machine right now is a notebook and it isn't
worth running Linux on it, but I plan to set up a machine at home and Linux
is a strong possibility.
SGI/IRIX is also a very real OS, and VERY good. My personal ISP runs an
8 processor SGI Challenge with IRIX. *Nice* system.
>Does this give them the right to eliminate the usefulness of this list?
I haven't felt that they have.

Well, Linux and BSDI are a VERY quickly growing user base. I don't know the
numbers, but my personal experience is that they are growing faster than
the other users put together. BSDI and Linux are extremely popular and seem
to be the systems of choice for new ISPs as well as many corporations.
>So true... It is difficult to tell the minority that their OS just doesn't

IRIX is a minority, granted, but in the high end market (big sites) it is
possible.

>Sounds like Win95, and OS2/Warp...
Actually, OS/2 is a very nice OS.

Thank you. We do our best, I know that we are not always fast in getting
back to people, and we make mistakes like the humans we are, but we make
every effort to support our customers. Part of it is growing pains, keeping
up with our growing user base means we have to grow too.

We're always glad to hear that - we normally only hear from people when they
aren't quite so happy.
