My experience(with Telebit NetBlazers) is that that is unrelieable and
slow to reset modems in that way. A much better way is to have the modem
reload it's configuration from NVRAM when DTR drops. This makews it easy to
reset a modem you suspect is having problems("reset s0" for example).

With V.34 Couriers, the command to do this is "ATS13.0=1".
