It seems so clean and simple to implement. I asked Livingston the following
a month ago. They did not answer:

: the handling of IP numbers is a bit cumbersome this way. The
: IP's for the outbound PPP sessions are set from the entries in the
: locations table. But this means that every location and thus each
: individual user (even when not active) needs a separate IP number.
