Don't know if anyone else replied to this, but this is how we do it:
Default Dynamic:
DEFAULT Password = "UNIX"
User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
Framed-Routing = Broadcast-Listen,
Framed-MTU = 512
Idle-Timeout = 1200
Session-Timeout = 18000
Standard Static IP user:
Mr.A Password = "UNIX"
User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-Address = 198.137.186.xxx,
Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
Framed-Routing = None,
Framed-MTU = 512
Idle-Timeout = 1200
Session-Timeout = 18000
Me!
sysop Password = "UNIX"
User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-Address = 198.137.186.xxx,
Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
Framed-Routing = Broadcast,
Framed-MTU = 512
Idle-Timeout = 1800
Real simple. Set the default for 20 minutes (coincidence here) and for
those that you do not want an idle or session limit, just omit that line on
their entry. No session limit for me, but of course. ;)
If they are dynamic, no Framed-Address too.
Me Dynamic! (generally never use this)
#sysop Password = "UNIX"
# User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
# Framed-Protocol = PPP,
# Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
# Framed-Routing = Broadcast-Listen,
# Framed-MTU = 512
# Idle-Timeout = 1800
This feature was just in time for our switch to unlimited, but with a
maximum continuous time of 5 hours. Saved a fair bit of time writing a
script too.
Now if Port-Limit worked with non-ISDN I'd be set, but I am considering
using the ESVA hack of RADIUS, but I may wait for 2.0 to be released and
hacked. Word must spread, as I change the Session-Limit to 10 on those that
I catch with multiple calls, of which some have bitched about not allowing
more than one telnet per person. "Why?" I asked myself. Another thing I
have done is changed Idle-Limits on "redialers" that were trying to keep a
continuous connection when we were short modems and busy was the norm at
peak times. Only 1 person has abused multiple calls, multiple telnet, and
redialed. His phone bill must have been high one month with the number of
calls made. 8^)
Take advantage, and ye shall pay.
