We have done the same in one of our sversea site (Hong Kong) actually.
You have to specifically route the subnet to a dummy device on your
server. The subnet mask etc must be correct too. Finally, you _MUST_ only
bring up the server as the last booting machine. It very tempermemtal, a
wrong sequent and you whole LAN will not work! (It is because you are
routing a subnet to a dummy device thro ARP etc. Exactly how it works,
may be some expert out there can comment more. That is the way we've go
it working! Hope it helps.
