AN ISDN timeout query

OK, I admit this isn't a PM question, strictly speaking, but it does
involve a PM, so I'll ask it anyway!

The scenario: Our PM2eR with a 5-BRI board, and a customer's OR-U.
The customer has a mixed bag of UNIX machines and PCs. The idle
timeout on both routers is set for 2 minutes.

What's happening is that the customer's OR-U will make the connection,
stay connected for 2 minutes, idle timer ticking away, then drop. As soon
as it drops, the OR-U brings up the connection again, to restart the cycle.

Now, I know it's not a PM problem, because when we pull the network cable
off the OR-U, it times out and doesn't re-establish the connection, so
there's *something* on this network that's trying to establish itself
over the link every couple of minutes.

Has anyone ever run into something like this? Will ptrace or debug help
determine what's happening here? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for any clues tossed my way!
