Probably the latter.
See, RADIUS authentification truncates on whitespace. So if he is sending:
'b.name B' Only 'b.name' gets used for authentification.
However, RADIUS Accounting is fairly braindead, it just logs the name as
it gets it and doesn't perform any operations on it - like truncating.
