We have a remote PM2ER that we connect with using a Switched 56k dialup
using our other PM2ER. The line during lightning storms periodically drops.
I have to manually dial the connection because the DSU supplied by Bell
(model Datapath from Northern Telcom) will not auto dial when disconnected.
The manual says it will do v.25bis synchronous automatic calling however
when setting the two PM's up to dial as per Livingston instructions from
tech support page the DSU never dials.
The DSU says it handles two commands formats.
1. Character-oriented message format
2. Bit-oriented message format
Which one does the PM understand??
Is there any info I may be missing in getting the PM2ER to dial the other??
