Freeze problems

Hi all,

I am having a MAJOR problem and I'm stuck. We have a Portmaster 2ER, and
the problem we are having is NOT disconnects, but a FREEZING of data. I
just tried this out and experienced the problem myself from inside the
office.

What happens is this: this connection works for a while (20 minutes for
example). Then, for no apparent reason, no IP data goes through (DNS stops
working, PING does not work). I see that the modem is connected, and the
modem on the PM is connected as well. The PM recognizes that I'm still
logged on, but no information goes through. I see the ping being recieved
by the other modem (both modems light up) but no response is made. I also
see that there are 3185 (bytes?) of data "pending" on the port (via
pmconsole) but it just doesn't do anything about it!

In other words, the modems are still connected, still talking to each
other, but the PM doesn't respond!!

Has anyone else had this problem? This is very frustrating and I've tried
forever to figure it out. We've even tried the new diagnostic software,
but the Terminate-Causes are simply logged as "Idle-Timeout" or
"User-Request" because it doesn't recognize the freeze and either times out
or the user hangs up!
