I've got one portmaster that is extremely prone to failing user (ppp)
logins. The first portmaster (weasel) is of course hit first, and sees
more usage. However, look what our log files reveal about the second
(bad) portmaster named "squirrel":
[jeff@apex /var/log]$ grep fail auth | grep squirrel | wc -l
459
[jeff@apex /var/log]$ grep fail auth | grep weasel | wc -l
130
It seems that squirrel has over 3 times as many failed logins. I have
the accounting server set correctly, and the ports all appear to be set
up as they should be. Weasel is using version 3.1.3 (bad I know, but it
works), and squirrel is running 3.1.4. We were thinking about upgrading
squirrel just to see if it would fix it, but I was wondering if anybody
else has had this trouble and knows how to fix it...
Anyone?...Bueller...Bueller...
Anyway, please cc all brilliance to jeff@apex.net as I only get the
digest version of this list.
