I asked the same question a while back, and Derric Scott <derric@scott.net>
gave the following clever suggestion which has worked great for me:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, there is a way to avoid the extra $$$ of a hunt group here...
1. program each CALLING modem with the specific phone number
of one of the modems at the far end with:
Modem #1: AT&Z0=555-1212
Modem #2: AT&Z0=555-1213
etc.
2. write your script for your location table to have the modem
dial from the stored location rather than dialing to
the lead in a hunt group:
ATDTS=0
instead of ATDT555-1212
This lets one script call different numbers on each modem! :)
Voila! Works like a champ - I do it all the time. No need to give MaBell
more than absolutely necessary! (I knew there had to be some sort of use
for those stored numbers).
Note - this sorta assumes that you have a 1:1 ratio of calling to
called modems and they are basically dedicated.... if you have more
than that happening, you'll have to be more creative.
