Using ISDN-TA with Sync-ASync Conversion

I have a ISDN-TA which has a function to convert between Sync-PPP and
ASync-PPP. It works fine when calling ISDN-Router (ascend pipeline).

Next, I put this TA to PM20E (without ISDN BRI), and call it from PC
with same TA. But they cannot connect. Both of them runs in a Sync-Async
conversion mode.

I monitor PM20's async-serial port. After ISDN connection, PM tells "login:".
But the trace log in PC (with Trumpet Winsock) shows no input from PM.
Is there a way to do authentification without login?
